Glenn Wicks gives SKYTALK on how to prepare for an FAA IASA Audit at ICAO's 11th AFI Aviation Week

The Wicks Group (TWG) Managing Director Glenn Wicks delivered a SKYTALK titled "Preparing for a U.S. FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Audit" at the 11th edition of ICAO's AFI Aviation Week, held July 27–31, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt.

Hosted by the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), AFI Aviation Week is the premier annual gathering for the Africa–Indian Ocean civil aviation community. The eleventh edition convened Directors General of Civil Aviation, ICAO leadership, and aviation stakeholders from across the AFI region to advance shared priorities in aviation safety, security, and sustainability.

Delivered as part of the event's SKYTALK series, Mr. Wicks's presentation examined how civil aviation authorities can prepare for a U.S. FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment — the process through which the FAA determines whether a country's safety oversight system meets ICAO standards, and, in turn, whether its air carriers may operate to and from the United States. Drawing on TWG's almost 30 years of experience supporting civil aviation authorities worldwide, the talk offered a practical, oversight-focused perspective on strengthening the regulatory framework, technical documentation, and oversight capacity that underpin a successful IASA Category 1 determination.

TWG's participation reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to supporting civil aviation authorities and industry stakeholders in strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing safety oversight capabilities, and advancing international aviation standards. Through its global work, TWG remains dedicated to helping clients achieve and sustain compliance while promoting safe, sustainable growth throughout the aviation sector.
