The Wicks Group Participates in ICAO/EASA Third Global RSOO and RAIO Forum for Aviation Safety

The Wicks Group (TWG) participated in the joint ICAO/EASA Third Global RSOO and RAIO Forum for Aviation Safety, held September 29–30, 2026, in Georgetown, Guyana.

Organized jointly by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Forum served as a high-level platform for Regional Safety Oversight Organizations (RSOOs), Regional Accident and Incident Investigation Organizations (RAIOs), ICAO Member States, international organizations, and industry to examine how regional cooperation strengthens States' safety oversight and accident investigation capabilities. The two-day programme brought together Directors General of Civil Aviation, ICAO and EASA leadership, development banks, airlines, and manufacturers from across the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Pacific.

Over two days the delegates discussed the benefits of regional cooperation, more practical approaches to safety and investigative functions by delegating from States to regional bodies.

They addressed attracting and retaining a more inclusive aviation workforce, more sustainable legal and funding models for regional organizations, developing new partnerships with industry, and the development of common regulatory frameworks and tools to better serve this critical sector.

The Forum's themes closely reflect the work TWG advances with civil aviation authorities around the world.

Regional oversight organizations play an increasingly integral role in helping States meet their ICAO obligations, particularly where national resources, technical staff, and funding are limited. Throughout the event, TWG engaged with civil aviation authorities, regional organizations, and industry partners.

TWG's participation reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to supporting civil aviation authorities and industry stakeholders in strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing safety oversight capabilities, and advancing international aviation standards.

Building upon its 25 years of global aviation work, TWG remains dedicated to helping clients achieve and sustain compliance while promoting safe, sustainable growth throughout the aviation sector.

Established in 1999 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., TWG provides technical, regulatory, and strategic advisory services to civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports, manufacturers, and international development organizations worldwide.
