This week, The Wicks Group deployed technical assistance teams around the globe in support of projects for the civil aviation authorities of Azerbaijan, India, and Panama. The teams—which include experts in the fields of airworthiness, aircraft operations, aviation law, and air operator certification—are working to ensure that civil aviation authorities meet international standards for aviation safety oversight.
In Azerbaijan, the team is working with local inspectors from the State Civil Aviation Authority to implement new guidance materials and prepare for an upcoming International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM).
The group in India is working closely with officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to provide technical assistance under the Aviation Safety Project Phase II, awarded by the United States Trade and Development Agency in 2016. The team's efforts focus on assisting the DGCA's ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program preparations and evaluating the safety oversight responsibilities of DGCA regional offices in order to enhance their communication and coordination with the headquarters office based in New Delhi.
In Panama, TWG Airworthiness and Operations experts are collaborating with inspectors from the Civil Aviation Authority of Panama (AAC) to develop and deliver enhanced inspector training. The training will emphasize special authorization and Air Operator Certification, areas in which TWG ultimately plans on assisting the AAC with certification activities.
In the coming weeks, TWG will deploy additional technical assistance teams to Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago. This multi-country effort highlights both the global reach of The Wicks Group and the variety of services that it provides.
