GLENN P. WICKS
Managing Director
Glenn Wicks is the founder and Managing Director of The Wicks Group. Mr. Wicks has more than 17 years of experience in providing legal and consult-
ing services to aviation-related clients. His legal practice encompasses regulatory, commercial, and international matters for firm aviation and other transportation clients. He also is active in our consulting services division, personally directing many of the firm’s major consulting engagements.
Prior to starting The Wicks Group, Glenn was associated with the aviation practice of a major Washington, DC law firm for several years. Since founding The Wicks Group in 1999, Glenn has overseen its growth to a highly regarded specialty legal and consulting firm. He is a regular speaker at national and international aviation seminars and conferences. He also is on the Governing Board of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Air and Space Law.
Representative Experience
• Represented several foreign airlines in their start-ups of U.S. operations, including successful resolution of all DOT, FAA, Customs, INS, local airport, state legal/tax issues |
• Drafted applications and responsive pleadings in DOT proceedings on behalf of a major U.S. airline, including: slot exemption proceedings, 401(h) route transfer cases, hearing and non-hearing evidentiary proceedings for international route authority, and oppositions to other airlines’ requests for competing international and domestic authority
• Developed legal and regulatory systems in two African nations (Cape Verde and Kenya) as part of a two-year contract to assist the Presidential “Safe Skies in Africa” Initiative
• Directed project to develop new economic licensing regulations for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a follow-up project to prepare the Invitation to Bid (for a new economic license) application package, assist with the evaluation of applicant air carriers, and document the award decisions
• Successfully represented a major U.S. airline in the first beyond-perimeter slot allocation proceedings under the Wendell Ford, Air 21 Act before the Department of Transportation |
