TWG Managing Director Meets with Young Joo Cho in Seoul

The Wicks Group (TWG) is pleased to announce that Managing Director Glenn Wicks recently traveled to Seoul, South Korea, where he met with client Young Joo Cho, Partner at Lee & Ko, one of South Korea's leading law firms. The meeting reflects the strong and ongoing collaboration between TWG and Mr. Cho in supporting South Korean aviation clients seeking to expand operations to the United States.

Over the past two years, TWG has worked closely with Mr. Cho to assist a major South Korean cargo airline in obtaining the regulatory approvals necessary to initiate and expand air service to the United States following its acquisition of Asiana’s cargo division. This effort required the integration of Asiana’s ongoing operations with the acquiring carrier’s (Air Zeta) start-up operations. This work has included the preparation and submission of applications and supporting documentation to U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as well as securing economic authority and other regulatory approvals required for international operations. TWG is also supporting a second passenger airline from South Korea who intends to start services to the United States in the coming year.

During the meeting, Glenn and Young Joo discussed ongoing projects, developments in the U.S.-Korea aviation market, and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two firms in support of airline clients navigating complex regulatory requirements.

TWG values its longstanding relationship with Mr. Cho and appreciates the opportunity to support clients throughout Asia and around the world. The meeting underscores TWG's continued commitment to expanding its presence in East Asia and providing specialized regulatory, certification, and market access services to international aviation stakeholders.

Established in 1999 and based in Washington, DC, TWG has a lengthy record of providing IASA technical assistance to civil aviation authorities (CAAs), including but not limited to the CAAs of India, Panama, Cabo Verde, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Trinidad and Tobago. In all, ten FAA Category 1 ratings have been issued to TWG IASA technical assistance clients to date. TWG also regularly assists foreign air carriers with obtaining the U.S. government approvals needed to operate directly to the U.S. and assists foreign repair stations with securing FAA certification required to provide services for U.S.-registered aircraft.
